We have an excellent opportunity for a remote UST Compliance Specialist in our Hunt Valley, MD office.

What you will do:

The remote UST Compliance Specialist will be responsible primarily for supporting two worldwide fuel system programs in the areas of underground storage tank (UST) and fuel system compliance for a federal client.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Manage compliance projects for USTs and fuel systems, ensuring adherence to federal and state regulations.
  • Conduct field-based training for UST systems (UST Operator Training) and fuel leak detection testing.
  • Develop training materials.
  • Oversee subcontractor work and ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical reports and manage project budgets.
  • Regulatory environmental compliance program development, audits, and assessments.
  • Develop permit applications and compliance plans (SPCC, SWPPP, air permits, etc.).
  • Regulatory reporting (RCRA biennial reports, EPCRA Tier II and Form R, and air quality).
  • Compliance and rapid response testing of Aboveground Storage Tanks (ASTs), USTs, and fuel pipelines.

Note:  This work includes travel throughout the United States and may include some International (passport required).

What you will need:

  • B.S. degree (M.S. degree preferred) in environmental science, environmental engineering, or related discipline.
  • 3-5 years of experience in environmental compliance.
  • Strong understanding of federal and state regulations governing fuel storage, conveyance, and dispensing.
  • Knowledge of fueling systems preferred.
  • Experience leading or supporting field efforts and overseeing subcontractors.
  • Must be able to obtain security clearance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to work as a team member across technical disciplines.
  • Willingness to travel out of state and may include international travel.
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification preferred.
