We have an excellent opportunity for a mid-level Environmental Scientist in our Hunt Valley, MD office.

What you will do:

The mid-level Environmental Scientist will support wetland and other natural resources field work.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Lead planning, fieldwork and reporting for projects.
  • Supervise early career staff in the field on all natural resource related projects such as wetland delineations, vegetation surveys, habitat assessments, and similar field efforts.
  • Train staff in wetland and natural resources fieldwork.
  • Support wetland and stream restoration design and mitigation monitoring.
  • Interact with clients and agencies as needed.

Note:  This work includes travel throughout the United States.

What you will need:

  • B.S. degree (M.S degree preferred) in biology, ecology, botany, or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years of industry experience with an M.S. degree or 5 years and B.S. degree.
  • Strong understanding of plant taxonomic keys and botany including submerged aquatic vegetation (SAV) and invasive species.
  • Ability to lead field surveys associated with wetland and stream assessments including delineations and functional assessments.
  • Experience using GPS or topographic survey techniques in support of field studies.
  • Must be able to work as a team member across technical disciplines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to travel out of state.
