We have an excellent opportunity for an Environmental Technician in Seattle, WA.

What you will do: 

The Environmental Technician will provide support on long-term monitoring and remediation at various Navy bases in the Puget Sound region and Alaska.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Follow project plans to conduct tests and field investigations.
  • Obtain data for use by environmental, engineering, and scientific personnel in determining sources and methods of controlling pollutants in water and soil.
  • Conduct field sampling for a variety of environmental media including groundwater, surface water, sediment, and soil.
  • Prepare samples for shipping, coordinate with laboratories, and prepare field reports for review.
  • Document and record field data and observations.
  • Maintain and review institutional controls at project sites that include:
    • Land use inspections.
    • Inspections of impervious covers, drainages, vegetated areas, fencing, signage, and shoreline condition.

What you will need:

  • B.S. or A.A. degree in environmental science, or related field.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in the environmental industry.
  • Effective communication (written and verbal) skills.
  • Ability to work as a team member across technical disciplines.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and ability to learn quickly are critical.
  • Comfortability working in both an office, field, and industrial environment.
  • Ability to lift up to fifty pounds frequently and stand/walk for up to 8 hours each day.
  • Basic Computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office).
  • Current 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training, 30-hour OSHA Construction training, and First Aid/CPR certifications are a plus but not required prior to hire.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • U.S. citizen with the ability to receive clearance at U.S. Military Installations.


Anticipated salary range is $68,000 to $75,000 per year.
