We have an excellent opportunity for an early career Coastal or Ocean Engineer in our Warwick, RI office to support projects focusing on innovative techniques to improve coastal resilience and address impacts associated with climate change.

What you will do:

The early career Coastal or Ocean Engineer will focus on working with large groups of stakeholders to plan, design, permit, implement, and monitor projects for a variety of locations across the country, including Hawaii and Alaska, that involve nature-based, hybrid, and other innovative techniques.

Specific duties include:

  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team and driving the design component of projects.
  • Being a driver on projects that include habitat restoration and enhancement, infrastructure resilience, carbon sequestration, climate adaptation, and Department of Defense mission resilience with other environmental and social co-benefits.
  • Participating in a wide variety of projects including stream/wetland restoration and environmental site remediation.

What you will need:

  • BS/BA degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program (coastal or ocean engineering preferred; civil, environmental, biological, or other related engineering degree considered).
  • Completed coursework in coastal and ocean engineering.
  • Intention to complete and pass the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam and eventually the Professional Engineering Exam is required.
  • Solid understanding of and experience with the engineering design process for shoreline protection projects.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Civil3D, ArcGIS, Python, and other programs and models preferred.
  • Desire to become a leading technical resource for project work.
  • Willing to travel for fieldwork for more than two weeks at a time.

Anticipated salary range of $65,000 to $80,000 per year.
