We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Manager in our Syracuse, NY office to perform project and task management activities to support State and Federal environmental projects.

What you will do:

Your responsibilities as a Project Manager will include:

  • Provide environmental consulting services to a variety of Federal and State clients including the Department of Defense, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, as well as private sector clients.
  • Participate in project cost estimating, proposal preparation, and client presentations. 
  • Form a project team and ensure that responsibilities are assigned, and execution of tasks are completed according to the project budget and schedule.
  • Define project scope, determine work procedures/sequences, and develop/track schedules, budgets, and staffing requirements.
  • Coordinate and work collaboratively with other technical disciplines to complete technical scope, and meet project objectives, project/task budget, and deliverable schedules.
  • Prepare and/or present reports and data analyses including design calculations, field data results, conclusions, and cost estimates.
  • Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photographs, and other data to optimize project planning.

What you will need:

  • A bachelor’s degree in geology, environmental science, engineering, or related science/engineering discipline.
  • 8-15 years of experience relevant to project management and environmental consulting.
  • Proficiency in geological/hydrogeological/environmental fundamentals.
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER certification and current 8-hour HAZWOPER annual refresher, or ability to obtain.
  • Commitment to working with EA staff, clients, contractors, consultants, and regulatory agencies to provide excellent client service.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to motivate project team members, engage/mentor colleagues, diplomacy, and delegating skills.
  • A working knowledge of project management and environmental project life-cycle delivery to include planning, design, estimating, and implementation.
  • Willingness and desire to continue to learn, improve, and advance technical competencies.
