Engineering Technician - Spokane, WA (22040)

We have an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated Engineering Technician in the Spokane, WA area.  EA is responsible for the operation and maintenance (O&M) of over 80 residential treatment systems and one municipal treatment plant.  The candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Treatment system inspection, calibration, and routine maintenance
  • Emergency response to service call outs  
  • Repair/troubleshoot treatment system components: groundwater well pumps, pressure tanks, piping, granular activated carbon (GAC) filters, pump controls, pressure switches, other electrical components, etc.
  • Direct coordination of work with stakeholders
  • Soil and water sampling
  • Construction oversight.

The position may also provide field support for other EA projects in eastern WA, Idaho, and Montana as needed.  This position will report to the EA office in Seattle, WA.

Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of related experience: treatment system O&M, environmental investigations, soil and groundwater sampling, oversight of subcontractors (i.e., excavation, drilling).
  • Associate degree in engineering technician field preferred.
  • Plumbing, electrical, and maintenance/repairs of equipment experience strongly desired.
  • Basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) required.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • OSHA HAZWOPER training preferred.

Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to receive clearance at U.S. Military Installations.
