We are seeking a junior to mid-level Scientist with experience in natural resources (NEPA, ESA, permitting, wetland delineation/mitigation/compensation, flora/fauna surveys, ecosystem assessment, etc.) to support projects and proposals.  The ideal candidate will also have experience in sampling media for NPDES and CERCLA related projects or be willing to learn to support this work.  Field assignments may be up to 3 or 4 weeks but are generally a week or less.

 Responsibilities:

  • Work may include conducting flora and fauna surveys in accordance with established plans, contributing to plans and reports, supporting wetland delineations, permitting efforts, and NEPA / ESA tasks.
  • Clientele will be wide ranging including Department of Defense entities, National Park Service, and commercial entities.
  • Support will also be needed for business development activities including proposal and presentation support.
  • Assist with Alaska coastal ecosystems assessments and resilience projects. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (preferred) in biology, ecology or similar discipline
  • Two to five years’ experience conducting natural resource based projects.
  • Strong writing skills are required.
  • Willingness to travel by small aircraft, helicopter, and/or boat to remote locations.
  • Experience working in remote Alaskan environment preferred.
