We have an excellent opportunity for an early career Geologist in our Abingdon, MD office.

What you will do:

The early career Geologist will assist in various activities to  include:

  • Assist in preparing project plans and technical reports related to investigation and remediation activities (boring logs, data tables, geologic cross sections).
  • Develop thorough knowledge of standard field sampling procedures for various environmental media (soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, and air).
  • Participate/Lead field sampling teams in sampling for various environmental media.
  • Document and record data and observations in a clear and organized manner.
  • Provide assistance in the analysis, evaluation, and interpretation of hydrologic, geologic, and chemical data obtained during investigations.
  • Perform additional responsibilities in support of mid and senior-level Geologists as required.

What you will need: 

  • B.S. Degree in geology, environmental science, or engineering.
  • A passion for science and career development.
  • 1-2 years of experience with environmental consulting, including field-sampling procedures, monitoring well installation, CERCLA, and DOD installations.
  • Basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft office suite) required.
  • The ability to work in both office and outside environments and perform physical tasks is required (Employees must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds to the height of 5ft, bend, reach, be able to walk up and down flights of stairs, sit or stand for long periods of time)
  • Mechanical skills are a plus.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel out of state for project tasks lasting several weeks or more.
