EA has an exciting opportunity for an early to mid-career Engineer to provide engineering support on a variety of projects in our Research and Development program, and our investigation and remediation portfolio. The position offers a motivated candidate with a unique opportunity to work on cutting edge science and establish themselves in the industry.

What you will do:

The Engineer will be supporting R&D projects involving PFAS in wastewater, drinking water, soil, and other media. A secondary focus will be providing engineering support on site investigation and remediation.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Evaluating remedial options to treat PFAS in drinking water and other media, including working with vendors on novel technologies.
  • Developing specifications, design drawings, bid packages, and other technical documents to support treatment system procurement.
  • Supporting preparation of O&M manuals, basis of design, and other documents related to remedial system design.
  • Performing site visits at various facilities in the US and US territories, collecting samples, and training facilities on PFAS sampling techniques.
  • Evaluating site data to assess remedy performance and prepare progress reports.
  • Supporting preparation of RI reports, and leading preparation of feasibility studies and remedial designs.
  • Collaborating with clients and EA personnel to develop solutions for emerging contaminants.
  • Explore opportunities for personal growth by developing capabilities in areas of engineering design and project management.

What you will have:

The optimal candidate will have the skills listed below though strong consideration will also be given to individuals who have familiarity with these topics along with a demonstrated motivation to learn.

  • Bachelor’s degree (M.S. degree preferred) in environmental engineering, civil engineering, or related field.
  • Engineer-In-Training certificate required (or able to be obtained within 6 months), Professional Engineer license preferred.
  • 4 plus years of experience (professional and/or academic) with environmental remedy evaluation and design.
  • General knowledge of engineering specifications, drawings, and design documents.
  • Experience communicating and collaborating with vendors and subcontractors.
  • Experience working with large data sets, performing technical analysis using Python, R and/or MS Excel.
  • Strong organizational, verbal, and written skills.
  • Ability as needed to work in both a field and office setting.

Anticipated salary range $68,000 - $92,000 commensurate with qualifications and experience.
