Early Career Environmental Scientist (24072)

We are seeking Early Career Environmental Scientist professional to support our growing Environmental, Health, Safety, and Sustainability (EHSS) consulting practice.  This position is designed for someone who is enthusiastic about taking the first step in their career as an EHSS consultant. 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform regulatory compliance analyses, audits and assessments.
  • Perform technical research tasks for multimedia compliance projects.
  • Develop permit applications and other regulatory document packages and backup documentation.
  • Prepare EHSS compliance management documents.
  • Perform field studies and data gathering activities.
  • Prepare project reports.
  • Support stormwater and spill prevention plan development.
  • Support asbestos and other IH surveys.

Requirements:

  • B.S. degree in environmental science, environmental engineering or related discipline.
  • 0-3 years of professional experience. 
  • Must be self-motivated, comfortable working with peers, clients, and independently.
  • Must have a basic knowledge of federal and/or state regulatory programs/statutes and strong desire to participate in a wide variety of projects.
  • Comfortablility working in both an office and field or industrial environment. 
  • Must have an interest in regulatory compliance issues and enthusiasm to learn.
  • Prior work or internship experience with EHS compliance activities a plus.
  • Solid communication (written and verbal) skills are required, including the ability to maintain an appropriate level of communication with supervisor and project/program managers.
  • Must be able to work as a team member across technical disciplines, and must be able to adhere to schedules, scopes, and budgets, as well as EA’s project management and quality standards.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and ability to learn quickly are critical.
