Mid-level GIS Specialist (22035)

The Munitions Response Group is seeking a mid-level GIS Specialist who has experience in Python and/or Arcade scripting and is proficient in ArcGIS Pro. The candidate will assist in the effort to advance our GIS capabilities in automated spatial analysis processes and ArcGIS field data collection applications.

Responsibilities

  • Executing geospatial analyses and mapping techniques using Python, Arcade, ArcGIS Model Builder, VB script or other GIS compatible programming language as needed.
  • Importing data and creating figures from multiple data sources such as CAD, MS Excel, PDF documents, and GPS devices.
  • Developing requirements and configuration documentation for ArcGIS tablet applications.
  • Occasional field work may be required involving drone flights and Differential GPS field data collection.

Education and Qualifications

  • Bachelors of Art/Bachelors of Science in Environmental Science or Geography with coursework in Geographic Information Systems.
  • 2+ years of experience in a professional setting using ArcGIS Pro regularly as part of your work experience.
  • Must be self-motivated, comfortable working with peers and project managers, and must be able to work independently.
  • Solid communication (written and verbal) skills are required, including the ability to maintain an appropriate level of communication with supervisor and project/program managers.
  • Experience with ESRI’s ArcGIS Online Platform and field applications (ie. Survey 123, Field Maps, Collector).
  • Must be able to demonstrate GIS mapping and analysis skills including, but not limited to cartographic techniques, ArcToolBox familiarity (3D Analyst Tools, Spatial Analyst Tools, Data Management Tools, etc).
  • Experience with Python, Arcade, VB Script, ArcGIS Model Builder, or other GIS compatible programming language.
  • Experience in using Differential GPS equipment.
  • GISP Certification a plus.
  • FAA UAV Certification (Part 107) a plus.
