We have an opportunity in our Seattle, WA office for an experienced Chemist.

The successful candidate will:

  • Work with Analytical Laboratories to fulfill data needs and objectives for projects involving environmental media sampling;
  • Assist with designing Field Sampling Plans that achieve established DQOs;
  • Provide technical and senior technical review of chemical data work products including (but not limited to) QAPPs, CERCLA Remedial Investigations/Feasibility Studies, RCRA Corrective Action Documents, Data Reports, Data Usability and Data Quality Assessments, and Remedial Action and Long Term Operation/Long Term Monitoring deliverables;
  • Occasionally provide onsite support (and or Quality Control oversight/auditing) for sampling activities;
  • Interact with Analytical Laboratories to design appropriate analytical procedures and write scopes of work; act as technical point of contact (or liaison) with Laboratory and Validation Firm to communicate project needs and obtain bids; prepare scope of work for Laboratory and Validation Firm procurement; provide analytical and chemistry data management expertise during project execution: resolve data quality issues; and assist with Laboratory Corrective Actions/Lessons Learned for continual improvement;
  • Perform Data Verification and, occasionally, Data Validation on Laboratory Data Reports;
  • Work with EA Data Management employees to prepare and submit data deliverables in Client-required format;
  • Interact with EA Staff on chemistry data management topics when communicating with Federal and State Regulatory Agencies, Potentially Responsible Parties (PRPs), stakeholders, Clients (e.g. USACE, Air Force, Navy, EPA), and the Public;
  • Provide chemistry-related expertise in the above areas on a variety of Projects across the U.S, including serving as Quality Control Manager for various programmatic and project assignments.

Qualifications

  •  BS in Chemistry, MS preferred
  •  15 years of experience in the environmental consulting industry with a progressive increase in responsibility and areas of chemistry expertise.
