We have an excellent opportunity in our Hawaii office for a Health and Safety Professional to support NTP for Hawaii DOT Occupational Safety and Health Consulting Services, Statewide Project.

Successful candidate will conduct comprehensive baseline audit(s) to assess present Safety Program in relation to staffing, technical knowledge, safety procedures and manuals, baseyard/field practices, etc. Provide training to meet OSHA and HIOSH compliance requirements, and all applicable policies, and procedures. Work with staff to prepare, revise and update the Occupational Safety and Health Procedures in accordance with HAR 12-60-2. Develop, prioritize, and implement practices and procedures, and conduct internal audits as needed. Develop and implement an Occupational Safety and Health Culture Improvement Program.

It is a prerequisite that all prospective employees have extensive knowledge and experience with typical occupational safety and health programs and plans, as well as with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Hawaii Occupational Safety and Health Administration (HIOSH) regulations.

Other qualifications include at least five years of progressively responsible experience in health and safety compliance, training, and program development.  Qualified individuals must have a proven track record in health and safety, on-site safety awareness of site conditions, worker behavioral attitude and worker safety support as well as an awareness of supporting and implementing an overall safety management program and development of improvement.
