Job Title: Accounting Specialist
Location: Remote, prefer east coast candidates
Salary: $60,000-70,000/annually (commensurate with experience and qualifications)

We are seeking a detail-oriented and self-motivated Accounting Specialist to join our team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an individual who thrives in a remote work environment and is driven to complete tasks quickly and accurately. If you have strong accounting knowledge, an eagerness to collaborate with teams across the US, and are proficient with Microsoft Office, we encourage you to apply.

Specific Duties:

  • Review contract documents to set up projects according to the contract. Enter financial budgets into the ERP.
  • Prepare client invoices per contract requirements.  Maintain familiarity with different types of contracts, Time and Material, Cost Plus Fixed Fee and Lump sum.
  • Work in Excel and Adobe to provide client specific invoice formats and pull supporting backup documents, when needed.
  • Maintain documents and backup required to support client invoices while adhering to accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and specific client needs.
  • Assist Project Managers with project cost data and related financial information.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred (Equivalent professional experience may be substituted for educational requirements.)
  • Experience: 2-3 years of professional accounting experience
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Teams and SharePoint)
    • Experience with government contracting accounting, including familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and compliance reporting.
    • Solid understanding of accounting standards and the ability to maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with client and regulatory requirements
