Entry-level GIS Specialist (23049)

The Munitions Response Group is seeking an entry-level GIS Specialist with at least one year professional experience and competency in ArcGIS Pro software and online platforms to assist in the effort to advance our GIS capabilities in automated spatial analysis processes and ArcGIS field data collection applications.

Responsibilities

  • Importing GIS data and creating figures from multiple data sources such as CAD, MS Excel, PDF documents, and GPS devices.
  • Executing geospatial analyses and mapping techniques for report quality figures and data deliverables.

Education and Qualifications

  • Bachelors of Art/Bachelors of Science in Environmental Science or Geography with focus in Geographic Information Systems.
  • 1+ years of experience in a professional setting using ArcGIS regularly as part of your work experience.
  • Must be self-motivated, comfortable working with peers and project managers, and must be able to work independently.
  • Solid communication (written and verbal) skills are required, including the ability to maintain an appropriate level of communication with supervisor and project/program managers.
  • Proficiency in ArcGIS software including ArcPro, ArcGIS Online Platform.
  • Must be able to demonstrate GIS mapping and analysis skills including, but not limited to cartographic techniques, ArcToolBox familiarity (3D Analyst Tools, Spatial Analyst Tools, Data Management Tools, etc).
  • Experience with Python, ArcGIS Model Builder, VB script or other GIS compatible programming language preferred.
  • Developed written and verbal communication skills.
