EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc., PBC is a leading national environmental consulting firm specializing in water resource issues, soil and groundwater remediation, strategic environmental engineering/management, and regulatory compliance solutions. We currently have an excellent opportunity available in the Chicago, IL, area for a full-time, seasonal biological technician. This position will begin in July and extend through September and possibly into October. It will involve a combination of field and lab work as well as travel throughout the Midwest. Candidates must have:

  • A high school diploma or GED; it is preferred that applicant is pursuing or has obtained a BS degree;
  • A valid driver’s license;
  • The ability to collect and tabulate biological data and maintain records;
  • The ability to demonstrate good work habits, which includes exhibiting initiative, being efficient and dependable;
  • The ability to follow directions;
  • The ability to travel throughout the state and Midwest, working flexible hours in the field with night and weekend hours required occasionally;
  • The ability to work in a team environment, and
  • Knowledge regarding sorting/processing of biological samples is also preferred, but not required.

Duties to include assisting senior staff with adult fish and bioassay field sampling programs in the Midwest; processing of adult and larval fish samples in the laboratory; and entry of biological data into spreadsheets or Access databases.

Salary range for this position is $15/hour to $19/hour.

 Note:  While there has been a stay put on the Executive Order signed by President Biden requiring that all federal employees and federal contractor’s employees be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, EA is still requiring that all employees be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
