We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Environmental Engineer in our Sacramento, California office. 

 What you will do: The selected candidate will provide technical support to field and project work for Federal and private clients primarily in California. Field activities will include environmental sample collection (e.g., soil, water, air, tissue) and subcontractor oversight. Project work (in office) may require project planning, permit assistance, data evaluation, long-term monitoring, design, and O&M of remedial systems, environmental restoration, and stormwater compliance. Current projects involve site characterization and remediation at complex CERCLA sites with multiple types of impacted environmental media, work with emerging contaminants, and diverse locations.

 What you will need: 

  • B.S. degree (e.g., civil engineering, environmental engineering)
  • California E.I.T.
  • 3 - 8 years of related experience
  • Strong technical writing skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team
  • Ability to travel for fieldwork (less than 50 percent of the time)
  • Ability to complete 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER (upon employment)
  • Strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills

 Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience with field sampling, including soil, sediment, surface water, groundwater, and/or air
  • Experience managing subcontractors (e.g., construction oversight, drilling oversight, surveyors)
  • Experience with assessment of analytical data and preparation of technical reports
  • Familiarity with CERCLA
  • California P.E. or the ability to obtain P.E. in California is desired
  • M.S. degree
