Mid/Senior Environmental Engineer (22034)

We have an excellent opportunity for a mid/senior Engineer with at least 10-years of experience to support a wide range of projects within the Great Lakes region including ecosystem restoration design, living shoreline design, and climate adaptation planning.

Position duties will include the assessment of vulnerabilities associated with fluctuating water levels and storm events, ecological response to climate change, and a thorough understanding of hydrology and hydraulics in support of design activities. Clientele will be wide ranging including US EPA, Department of Defense entities, National Park Service, US Fish and Wildlife Service, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, ports, non-profits, state, local and commercial entities. This incumbent will also support business development activities including maintaining schedules, tracking of opportunities, proposal, and presentation support, and providing general support for business development.

Preferred location of position will be in close proximity to an EA office in Deerfield, IL or Brighton, MI.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. degree in Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Professional Engineer registration (Great Lakes states preferred)
  • 10 years + experience in Civil Engineering consulting at increasing levels of responsibility
  • Outstanding project management and leadership skills.
  • Strong writing skills are a must.
  • Proven track record of design and permitting within an interdisciplinary team related to stormwater, green infrastructure, wetlands, stream restoration and surface water drainage systems in general preferred.
  • Must be able to operate latest Civil Engineering software/design tools for system modeling, design calculation, analysis, interpretation and drafting software.
