Senior Coastal Engineer - Alaska (22016)

We have an excellent opportunity for a senior level Coastal Engineer with at least 10 years of experience to provide technical input for a wide range of projects including assessment of vulnerability and risk (specifically related to sea level rise) in coastal environments, adaptation design development including improving coastal resilience through structural and nature based feature design, dredging and beneficial use of sediment, ecosystem restoration projects, and sediment transport modeling.

Position duties will include oversight of design projects including specifications, cost estimating, coastal process and sea-ice modeling, and coordination with restoration ecologists. Clientele will be wide ranging including Department of Defense entities, National Park Service, US Fish and Wildlife, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, ports, non-profits, and commercial entities. This position will include short term travel.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree in coastal engineering or related engineering discipline from an accredited institution required.
  • 10+ years of related experience
  • Varied experience with wide ranging geographies is preferred, including experience working in the Arctic.
  • Demonstrated project management experience with exceptional leadership, cost control, and oral/written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across EA departments and operations with all levels of staff.
  • Experience with developing designs in remote and difficult to reach project locations is preferred.
  • Activity in industry and trade associations (ASBPA, ASCE/COPRI, SAME, etc.) with regular presentation of professional papers/presentations.
  • Certification in one or more related discipline areas such as certification e.g., P.E., CFM, PMP preferred. 

We offer a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefit package, relocation packages will be considered for the ideal candidate. Preferred location of position will be in close proximity to an EA office in Anchorage or Fairbanks. However, there is flexibility in the location of the position.
