Part-time Natural Resources Technician - Wisconsin (22013)

In this part-time position, the Natural Resources Technician will work independently and/or as part of a team conducting field surveys to determine water-related recreational use. The work sites are located in Washburn, Sawyer, and Iron Counties in Wisconsin. As such, the preferred candidate should reside locally within or near that area. The surveys will be conducted during a 12-hour daytime period on predetermined dates that will consist of random weekdays and weekends, including at least one day during the Memorial Day, Fourth of July, and Labor Day holiday weekends. This work assignment is for May through August but can be extended into September, depending on your availability. During that four-month period, surveys will be typically conducted once or twice per week with about one-half of them occurring on weekends. Must have the ability to effectively interact with the public and efficiently record their responses on either paper or electronic forms. Training will be conducted.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in a written form.
  • Must be detailed-orientated.
  • Ability to use an electronic table is preferred.
  • Flexibility to work 12-hours daytime shifts up to three times per week during random weekdays and weekends, including at least one day during the Memorial Day, Fourth of July, and Labor Day holiday weekends. Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license Must provide transportation for work related duties (mileage will be reimbursed).
  • Willingness to occasionally work outdoors in inclement weather.

Note:  While there has been a stay put on the Executive Order signed by President Biden requiring that all federal employees and federal contractor’s employees be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, EA is still requiring that all employees be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. As such, all prospective employees must submit proof of full COVID vaccination prior to their first day of employment with EA.
