Senior Industrial Health/Safety Manager (21167)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Industrial Health/Safety Manager with demonstrated technical expertise in environmental health and safety related to site characterization and remediation projects including planning, APP/SSHP and other HASP preparation and project execution to manage large scale projects. Duties include managing implementing and enforcing EAs safety program, conducting safety audits, assuring compliance with QA/QC and safety procedures, evaluating work activities, and identifying process improvements.  This position could work from any EA office.  We would consider candidates interested in part-time or full-time employment. 

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Engineering, Geology, or Science or related discipline.
  • Minimum 15-20 years of continuous environmental health and safety experience, including HTRW and construction projects for site characterization and remediation projects.
  • Current OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER, OSHA 8-hour HAZWOPER Site Supervisor, 30-hour OSHA Construction Safety training, and First Aid and CPR certification required.
  • Construction industry safety experience, preferably at hazardous waste, disposal, underground storage tank, or chemical industry sites (HTRW, RCRA, CERCLA, TSCA, radiological, petrochemical, etc.).
  • Experience with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, USEPA, other DoD environmental investigation and remediation projects.
  • Working knowledge of Federal and State occupational safety and health regulations.
  • Experience managing health and safety programs on sites, including developing and implementing H&S plans, programs, and training.
  • Experience with environmental site operations, including multimedia environmental sampling and specialized training in personal and respiratory protective equipment, program implementation, and proper use of air monitoring instruments, air sampling methods, and interpretation of results.
  • Environmental consulting and remediation experience, including working in potentially hazardous environments (requiring Level C and B personal protective equipment), is a plus.
  • Demonstrated history of responsibility, initiative, motivation, and assertively enforcing Health and Safety requirements.
