Corporate Accountant I - Remote Work (21127)

We have an opening for a Corporate Accountant position.  This position will be based out of our office in Hunt Valley but can be fully remote.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze general ledger account activity and perform G/L reconciliations monthly.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations for all cash accounts.
  • Prepare reconciliations on all investment accounts.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries for various accruals, prepaids, and other balance sheet accounts.
  • Prepare all Company health benefit reconciliations on a monthly basis.
  • Assist the Accounting and Tax Manager with month-end closing process, annual financial audit, and DOT overhead audits.
  • Prepare and interface monthly depreciation entries as well as interface payroll transactions into the financial system.
  • Maintain fixed asset database through Sage FAS software.
  • Maintain full cycle accounting books for our various Joint Ventures (JV) through QuickBooks, including processing of AP and AR, reconciling the GL, performing bank reconciliations, and preparing interim financial reporting for the JV partners.
  • Responsible for AP processing and company disbursements.
  • Assist in the preparation of information requested to prepare federal and state corporate income tax returns.
  • Maintain the Company’s registrations, licenses, taxes, and annual report filing databases.
  • Prepare and submit the Company’s registrations, licenses, and annual report filings.
  • Maintain orderly files and records for audit and reference

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • 3+ years of professional accounting required, public accounting experience a plus
  • CPA or CPA candidate preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and Teams
  • Knowledge of Adobe software
  • Attention to detail and accuracy without sacrificing efficiency is crucial
  • Solid communication skills (written, verbal, and interpersonal)  are required
  • Excellent planning, organizational and time management skills are vital
  • Analytical thinking, sound judgement, and problem-solving skills are needed
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team player are essential
  • Capacity to multi-task and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment is necessary
