EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc., PBC seeks to fill a strategic regional leadership position within our Environmental, Health, and Safety Management & Assurance Service Line.   The individual selected for this leadership position will be responsible for the continued growth of EAs environmental, health and safety (EHS) compliance service offerings and the further advancement/recognition of EA in the marketplace. This is a strategic growth role to further and expand EA’s relationships. This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced emerging leader to leverage and substantively grow relationships with private, state & local, and federal clients nationally.  The ideal candidate will reside on the West Coast and operate from EA’s Corporate Client Programs group within the most proximal advantageous EA West Coast office location working collaboratively with EA’s Operations leadership.

The successful candidate will lead and support client development, project execution and relationship management in the EHS marketplace reporting to EA’s National Service Line Program Manager.  The EHS Service Line Manager will be supported by technical, project management, and client development personnel across EA. The Service Line Manager will collaborate with senior managers and subject matter experts in key EHS service offerings. The role has specifically been designed to minimize the direct management of personnel internally in order to maximize the ability to focus on strategic growth and development of the service line.  Responsibilities include identifying, marketing, and capturing contracts or stand-alone projects with a variety of clients, preparing proposals, negotiating contracts, and mentoring staff on contract and client requirements. The individual will serve in a programmatic or key account role supporting EA resources and managing client relationships.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrated client relationships and business development success with state, local, and private clients preferred; federal desired but not necessary.
  • Understanding of the EHS trends and opportunities in the marketplace
  • Exceptional leadership and oral/written communication skills.
  • Desire/ability to service multiple market sectors and technical areas.
  • Ability to collaborate across EA departments and operations with all levels of staff.
  • Technical expertise in EHS service line consulting as well as a track record of client management success.
  • Subject matter expert in one or more EHS technical discipline areas; certification e.g., CHMM, CSP, CIH, CPEA preferred.  If engineer, PE preferred
  • Activity in industry and trade associations (NAEM, etc.) with regular presentation of professional papers/presentations
  • Demonstrated experience in the areas of cost & proposal development, program/account management, and technical writing.
  • Possess strong verbal, written, presentation and excellent client management skills; demonstrated ability leading and managing complex proposals and projects; as well as being goal oriented, quality focused, and have demonstrated success with creating and fostering a team environment.
  • Demonstrated and successful track record of working with clients to define issues and develop practical and cost-effective solutions.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or Environmental Science or related fields; advanced degree preferred.
  • At least 15 years of demonstrated success in client development, EHS program and project management.
  • Demonstrated client relationships in the EHS management & assurance market.
  • Specific experience selling and managing EHS management & assurance.
  • Strong business acumen and attributes, coupled with a commitment to EA Core Values
  • Ability to travel to client and EA operations as required (estimated 30% travel).
  • Location is flexible, but preferred candidate will be West Coast of US based out of EA’s Sacramento, CA or Seattle, WA area office.
