We have an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Assistant IV in our Hunt Valley, MD office.

Responsibilities

  • Daily processing of accounts payable to ensure accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices and employee expense reimbursements
  • Ensuring that all vendor invoices are accurate and have been properly documented and approved by the authorizing employee prior to processing
  • Working with outside vendors to resolve payment issues and reconcile discrepancies
  • Maintain EA’s vendor files, including setting up new vendors, maintaining any existing vendor changes, and ensuring compliance with applicable internal controls related to vendor maintenance
  • Audit and approve employee expense reports for accuracy, proper expense classification, and compliance with company policy
  • Maintaining client project set up in the financial system: Work with project managers to accurately set up new projects in accordance with contract terms
  • Preparation of timely and accurate invoicing to clients in accordance with contracted terms, including obtaining and providing all supporting documentation if/when required by contract terms
  • Assisting the Regional Accounting Manager with month-end closing process
  • Assisting with year-end audit support and audit-related questions
  • Maintaining orderly files and records for audit and reference

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a relatable field
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in accounting or finance 
  • Demonstrated ability to work in fast pace, high volume environment, i.e. processing in excess of 100 A/P invoices weekly and 150 expense reports a month
  • Knowledge and experience in cost accounting
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word
  • Knowledge of Adobe software
  • Attention to detail and accuracy without sacrificing efficiency is crucial
  • Solid communication (written, verbal, and interpersonal) skills are required
  • Excellent planning, organizational and time management skills are vital
  • Analytical thinking, sound judgement, and problem-solving skills are needed
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team player are essential
  • Capacity to multi-task and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment is necessary
