Our workload in the Northeastern region of the U.S. is growing and we are looking for an exceptional environmental professional to fill the role of Senior Engineer to assist in the development and growth of our Northeast operations. We have an exciting opportunity in our New York Operations – in either the Central NY or Capital Region.

Responsibilities

The candidate will be a client/project manager and senior technical resource for projects involving water supply/distribution and wastewater collection/treatment, site characterization and remediation, stormwater management, water resources, as well as other environmental and civil subject areas.  Job responsibilities will include preparation of engineering reports, funding applications, project development deliverables, design contract documents and specifications, cost estimates and bidding phase services. Identification and support business development, client expansion and proposal development activities with existing EA clients through the implementation of cost-effective and creative engineering solutions.  Participate in and lead project teams in the planning, design and execution of various remedial programs; Management of various environmental assessment, remediation, and compliance projects including maintenance of project scope, schedule, budget and quality through the coordination of project teams and direct client communication. Technical and strategic support related to large-scale remedial investigations (RI) and feasibility studies (FS), conceptual and full-scale design of upland and aquatic remedies. Oversight and management services for major construction projects.

In this role you will have the opportunity to foster client relationships, lead proposals, and manage multi-faceted project delivery teams.  Work will include consulting with EA staff and clients to determine how to meet project goals.This position will be tailored to a specific candidate’s experience and personal interest.

Qualifications

  • B.S. or M.S. degree in civil or environmental engineering or a related field
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) registered in NY or ability to obtain NY license through reciprocity preferred but not required
  • 10 - 15 or more years of water resources/civil/environmental engineering experience with a focus on designing and permitting projects in the Northeast
  • Desire to mentor and grow staff technical capabilities
  • Aptitude for leading teams of professionals across engineering and science disciplines, including internal staff and subcontractors
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience and demonstrated success working with state and federal agencies
  • Experience in customer/client relationships with presenting a professional image
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to lead and motivate a team
